SOUTH ISLAND,
NEW ZEALAND - November 2002
“We had a great time in New Zealand. George Burnett and I
met after an interval of 50 years on a beach at Boulders, on the east coast
of South Island, just a few kilometres south
of Oamaru where he currently lives. We had a
pleasant lunch at the restaurant just above the beach and then moved on to Oamaru where Muriel and I stayed overnight in the
local motel before moving on to Christchurch
for the last few days of our New
Zealand trip. We plan to meet George
and Liz in Sydney in the New Year after
they have been to see Butch Haynes in Perth,
Western Australia. WOW! We
49ers certainly do get around!”
