John Patey (right), a Wokingham lad, is a close friend of Ted Blowers. John was a National Serviceman in the Royal Tank Corps and his son Gary (left) is in R.E.M.E. and currently stationed at Arborfield. Gary, a career soldier, is ready to retire with the rank WO I, unable to progress further unless he takes a commission. This photograph was taken at a Father & Son Mess Night at Arborfield.
