On Leave – Sandown, Isle of Wight

Ken ROGERS & Bob JONES

“Bob Jones and I were very close friends and I took him home with me many times as then I lived in Sandown on the Isle of Wight where my uncle and parents owned a hotel. We always “modified” our uniforms to catch the girls; our B.D. jackets came from an Army Surplus Store and Bob had a pair of B.D. trousers too, but being a pauper I utilised my S.D. trousers as you can see, and our Glengarries were to add some ‘glamour’. All completely illegal but not much chance of seeing M.P.s on the Isle of Wight.”
