After leaving the army in 1965 I spent 30 years living in Australia and am now retired and living very happily in the Philippines with my wife Susan.

Pictured with Tutu, one of three lads from the Gold Coast. The other two were Kari Kari and Sam. After HQ Company we all joined ‘D’ Company.

Later I read that Tutu had returned home and had been killed in a tribal war, though I have no actual confirmation of that.

at the

National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.

 

At the Drum Head Service, which was part of the

52nd. Arborfield Old Boys Association Reunion,

a Cross of Remembrance was laid for

John Goddard, 55B.
