The newly formed ‘Army Apprentice Pipes & Drums’ on their first official appearance provide a back drop to the memorial of the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers which had recently undergone a comprehensive refurbishment.

The four standards of the ‘Old Boys Associations’ of the Arborfield, Carlisle, Chepstow and Harrogate Army Apprentice Schools were joined by the standards of the ‘Veterans Associations’ representing R.E.M.E, R.A.S.C, R.C.T, R.E. and the Royal Signals, the Corps that the apprentices joined after their training.
