Libyan Farming Continued. Page 1a.

Sidi Mesri Farm in colour.

(A selection from a box of my slides, unseen for more than 50 years, but some have unfortunately deteriorated).

Slide colour affected through age, but still  a magnificent beast.

A wide variety of cattle were farmed at the agricultural centre.

Everybody needs a helping hand sometimes.

These photos indicate the very special care that these animals received.

A different breed again.

The curiosity of the young.

The native gazelle were also bred.

Just one of the many donkeys.

One of the many horses.

Even wolves had a place at the farm.

A breeding program to replace the Uaddan which had been hunted almost to extinction In the wild.

Chi Chi wandered the farm as she pleased.

Comfortable living quarters and a fresh baked cobsa to eat.  Life doesn’t get much better.

Sarus cranes.

Crossing a peacock with ordinary chickens could lead to an interesting  tasting egg.
