“This School Report was the Summer of 1946 - not long before we Passed Out. Since I only had one subject to complete of the Pre-War Army First Class Certificate of Education I was allowed to sit that one subject in 1951, and fortunately I passed - thus not having to repeat the whole Certificate again.” [Bob LAMBERT]

Note 1: Prior to 1st April 1952 the Wartime Promotion Code was in existence. Circa 1950, those remaining in the Army were given Shadow Ranks, which may have been higher or lower than the rank worn on the sleeve. On 1st April 1952 a man’s Shadow Rank became his peacetime Promotion Code Substantive Rank. The book has 103 pages and reads like a who's who of AAS Arborfield, with ex-Apprentices evident by their Regimental Number.

Note 2: On pages 30 and 31 the first four numerals [2547, 2548, 2549] of the Regimental Numbers were from 1942 to 1944. After that I believe they commenced with 14469. [Bob LAMBERT]
