Carried and used by the RSM and CSMs. Designed in the manner of a large pair of dividers to measure the pace of a marching body of troops. Used mainly to prod the person and equipment of troops under inspection, and brandished in a threatening manner to intimidate and strike fear into squaddies on parade.
